TLDL: She traded a chiropractic practice for a portable table so she could roadschool 3 kids across 49 states and discovered a whole new career along the way. Meet Dr. Kristi Corder. She did all that from an RV with her husband Brent. Nearly 8 years later, she still consults as a homeopath nationwide and adjusts spines across Texas. And she's launching her twins into adulthood after a childhood on the move.

Jen sat down with Kristi to talk about the journey from no-way-no-how to full-time RVer. Kristi shares what she’s learned about wellness, posture, holistic care, and raising kids outside of a normal school year.

00:00:04.959 --> 00:00:06.559
Hey guys, we're here with Dr.

00:00:06.639 --> 00:00:07.519
Christy Corter.

00:00:07.759 --> 00:00:13.439
Now, Christy, you and I met, I think, gosh, was it a balloon fiesta that we met at originally?

00:00:13.759 --> 00:00:16.800
Yes, we were just talking about that the other day.

00:00:17.199 --> 00:00:18.879
We went to balloon fiesta this year.

00:00:19.039 --> 00:00:26.320
We were like, oh, we met Jen, you know, outside of Balloon Fiesta at that R V park, um, at the, I think it was a casino, right?

00:00:26.480 --> 00:00:28.000
Yep, that was where my slide broke.

00:00:28.239 --> 00:00:29.920
Yes, yes, we were neighbors.

00:00:30.239 --> 00:00:31.920
Yeah, that was kind of interesting.

00:00:32.000 --> 00:00:35.759
And I didn't even know what you did was even an option for people on the road.

00:00:35.920 --> 00:00:38.399
So let's start a little bit back at that beginning.

00:00:38.719 --> 00:00:45.439
Can you just introduce yourself and then share a little about where your family's journey has taken you over the past couple of years?

00:00:45.759 --> 00:00:46.240
Yeah.

00:00:46.479 --> 00:00:56.640
So I am married to my husband Brent, and we have three kiddos, twin girls who are now 18 and a boy who is 15.

00:00:56.960 --> 00:01:01.920
My husband and I both worked from home for years, even when we had the kids.

00:01:02.079 --> 00:01:06.640
We were homeschooling the kids, and we were just like, you know, what are we doing?

00:01:06.799 --> 00:01:18.640
Like we, you know, we had that that home life where it's like, oh, you did your work during the week, and then during the weekend you had to fix things on the house, you had to mow the lawn, you had to do all the upkeep.

00:01:18.719 --> 00:01:23.439
So we were never like really going anywhere unless it was just to see family.

00:01:23.599 --> 00:01:30.159
And so my husband started thinking, hey, you know, I've seen where people RV full time, and I was like, no way, no how.

00:01:30.560 --> 00:01:36.560
And then we did start going with my in-laws on some camping trips.

00:01:36.799 --> 00:01:39.599
But you know, when you stay with them, where are we left?

00:01:39.760 --> 00:01:43.200
We're left on the um pull-out couch and the RV, right?

00:01:43.439 --> 00:01:43.840
Right.

00:01:44.079 --> 00:01:45.519
And it's just horrible.

00:01:45.680 --> 00:01:47.599
The RV couches are so horrible.

00:01:47.840 --> 00:01:50.400
And so my husband-in-law was like, Well, we could get our own.

00:01:50.560 --> 00:01:54.560
And I'm like, if you're gonna get an RV, we're going to Disney World.

00:01:54.719 --> 00:01:57.359
So there were goals, that's apparent.

00:01:58.000 --> 00:01:59.200
Yes, yes.

00:01:59.599 --> 00:02:04.560
He bought an RV and I booked us a trip to Disney World.

00:02:04.640 --> 00:02:14.800
Um, and it just so happened at the same time, and I I didn't mention this, I'm a chiropractor, and so I had a chiropractic conference that was going to be in Sarasota for a week.

00:02:15.039 --> 00:02:16.000
Oh, that's a bonus.

00:02:16.240 --> 00:02:19.919
So, yes, and so I was like, okay, let's make this a three-week thing.

00:02:20.000 --> 00:02:27.520
We'll go to Sarasota first, we'll do my conference, then we'll go over to Fort Wilderness at Disney and we'll spend a week there.

00:02:27.680 --> 00:02:29.840
And then we wanted to trek over to St.

00:02:30.080 --> 00:02:35.840
Augustine and just kind of end everything with like a vacation, right?

00:02:36.000 --> 00:02:38.719
And so it was there that we went to the fort.

00:02:38.960 --> 00:02:40.960
I don't remember the name of it, the fort that is in St.

00:02:41.120 --> 00:02:41.759
Augustine.

00:02:41.840 --> 00:02:47.520
And the kids did the junior ranger program, and you know, they were exploring and they were having a really good time.

00:02:47.680 --> 00:02:53.599
And we got back home, and I was like, wow, three weeks in an RV was totally doable.

00:02:53.759 --> 00:02:55.039
And the kids loved it.

00:02:55.199 --> 00:02:59.520
They were still learning, they were still getting an education, and we were able to have fun.

00:02:59.680 --> 00:03:02.000
And I was like, I think we could do this.

00:03:02.240 --> 00:03:06.000
I love that shift in mindset because I mean, that's really what it takes, right?

00:03:06.159 --> 00:03:17.120
Because I was one of those people that was like, I'm never gonna ever, ever, ever do this, like over my dead body and look at me out here in my 13th year of full-time travel, which is absolutely insane.

00:03:17.360 --> 00:03:22.560
So, I mean, so you were you are a chiropractor, you're you weren't were a chiropractor.

00:03:22.879 --> 00:03:25.840
So, how did that change like as you traveled?

00:03:26.080 --> 00:03:28.639
Were you still able to consult people and stuff like that?

00:03:28.800 --> 00:03:33.360
Yeah, so in chiropractic, you have to have a license in the state that you practice.

00:03:33.520 --> 00:03:33.840
Okay.

00:03:34.080 --> 00:03:36.159
So my license was Texas.

00:03:36.319 --> 00:03:42.159
So as long as we're traveling around Texas, I am still able to see some patients here.

00:03:42.479 --> 00:03:51.759
So, you know, when we decided that we could RV full time and that we wanted to RV full time, my husband was like, hold up, hold up, hold up.

00:03:51.919 --> 00:03:53.039
Are you sure?

00:03:53.280 --> 00:04:06.319
Because I don't want you to turn around, you know, six months from now, a year from now, regret this, and then blame me for you having to, you know, get rid of your patients and sell your practice off and that kind of stuff.

00:04:06.479 --> 00:04:10.719
Um, and I was like, no, you know, I have my whole entire life to be a chiropractor.

00:04:10.879 --> 00:04:15.759
So should I want to settle back down in Texas again, I can pick up where I left off.

00:04:15.919 --> 00:04:18.399
I can I know how my I want my practice to run.

00:04:18.560 --> 00:04:23.839
I I know the business side of it, I know how to get patients, I can do it for the rest of my life.

00:04:24.000 --> 00:04:27.439
I don't have my kids with me, you know, the rest of my life.

00:04:27.519 --> 00:04:29.680
You know, it's those those 18 years, right?

00:04:29.920 --> 00:04:37.040
So I'm on this journey of getting rid of things, moving into RV, starting, you know, traveling.

00:04:37.199 --> 00:04:39.120
I was having some health issues myself.

00:04:39.199 --> 00:04:42.399
And this was, you know, in the process of getting to full-time.

00:04:42.560 --> 00:04:47.920
And one of my patients actually said, Chrissy, part of my problem was food allergies.

00:04:48.160 --> 00:04:50.160
And it was amphylaxis.

00:04:50.319 --> 00:04:58.480
And what one of my chiropractic patients, she was like, Chrissy, you know my daughter had anaphylactic reactions, and we used a homeopath.

00:04:58.800 --> 00:05:00.879
You should really consider seeing a homeopath.

00:05:01.120 --> 00:05:13.680
And so I was introduced to um a homeopath by the name of Jouette Calabriese, and she was totally taking homeopathy by storm because she practices a whole different way than most homeopaths do.

00:05:13.920 --> 00:05:18.240
And I became not only a student of hers, but a client of hers.

00:05:18.399 --> 00:05:20.079
My anaphylaxis is gone.

00:05:20.319 --> 00:05:26.879
Some of my other issues that I was having are gone, and I became a homeopath in the meantime.

00:05:27.040 --> 00:05:41.759
When this happened, and this was around 2017, 2018, and I started, I guess in 2019, I started consulting with clients as a homeopath, and then COVID came along, and everything was going virtual.

00:05:42.000 --> 00:05:46.639
So I was already doing this virtual consulting and then COVID.

00:05:46.800 --> 00:05:57.920
So it was no change for me there, and that's what I have done from you know that day forward is I have switched over to consulting with people as a homeopath.

00:05:58.240 --> 00:05:58.800
Gotcha.

00:05:58.959 --> 00:05:59.920
That's really cool.

00:06:00.079 --> 00:06:02.160
So when you launched, how old were your kids?

00:06:02.399 --> 00:06:11.759
Okay, so the girls are 18, and we've been on the year on the road for almost eight years.

00:06:12.000 --> 00:06:16.000
So they had to have been around 11, like 10-ish 11.

00:06:16.079 --> 00:06:18.560
So Peyton had to have been like seven.

00:06:19.040 --> 00:06:21.759
How would you say you adapted your practice to mobile life?

00:06:21.839 --> 00:06:25.360
Because I mean, you know, when you're in Texas, you can still see people, correct?

00:06:25.600 --> 00:06:25.920
Yes.

00:06:26.160 --> 00:06:29.199
So in Texas, I have a portable adjusting table.

00:06:29.360 --> 00:06:30.000
Oh, nice.

00:06:30.240 --> 00:06:38.079
So I have a table that folds up and latches and you know breaks down, and I can pull that out anywhere and everywhere that I want to pull it out.

00:06:38.319 --> 00:06:41.680
So with my family, you know, it goes with us.

00:06:41.759 --> 00:06:45.600
So I can pull that out, adjust them on the road, and whatever.

00:06:45.759 --> 00:06:47.519
When I'm in Texas, same thing.

00:06:47.680 --> 00:06:48.639
I can pull it out.

00:06:48.720 --> 00:06:56.879
If somebody wants to come to the house or they want me to come to them, I will go to them and take my adjust my portable table and do it that way.

00:06:57.040 --> 00:07:11.120
So I don't have a huge chiropractic practice, so to speak, at this point in time because the majority of my patients were in the DFW area and our family is around the Lubbock area.

00:07:11.360 --> 00:07:18.399
So when we come back to Texas, we're usually in the Lubbock area for the most part.

00:07:18.639 --> 00:07:25.199
And so, you know, I've gotten contacted by a few people here who have found me on a pediatric chiropractor's website.

00:07:25.360 --> 00:07:32.399
And then, of course, I have my chiropractor that I see here who actually is referring me homeopathy clients.

00:07:32.560 --> 00:07:33.360
That's awesome.

00:07:33.600 --> 00:07:38.720
What are the most common issues that you'd say that RVers face with chiropractic care?

00:07:38.959 --> 00:07:41.759
How can they find chiropractic care where they're traveling?

00:07:42.000 --> 00:07:42.160
Yes.

00:07:42.480 --> 00:07:49.199
So places like the joint are really fabulous for finding chiropractors on the road because they're everywhere.

00:07:49.279 --> 00:07:50.160
They're a chain.

00:07:50.319 --> 00:07:54.959
Just like you'd have McDonald's or Burger King or whatever as a chain, the joint is a chain.

00:07:55.120 --> 00:08:05.199
And so it's very easy for someone who is a member of the joint to find another joint practice that they can go into when they're in different cities.

00:08:05.439 --> 00:08:11.360
The downside of this is that it's gonna be hit or miss with your chiropractor.

00:08:11.680 --> 00:08:16.560
There's gonna be chiropractors that you love because they adjust the way that you're used to.

00:08:16.639 --> 00:08:20.319
And then there's gonna be other chiropractors who you don't drive with so well.

00:08:20.480 --> 00:08:22.639
So that's the bad part of it.

00:08:22.879 --> 00:08:30.480
Also, a lot of times I'll have RV RV families who contact me and say, hey, I'm gonna be in this area.

00:08:30.800 --> 00:08:32.639
Do you have any contacts there?

00:08:32.879 --> 00:08:42.799
So I can actually get in contact with some of my chiropractor friends that might be in those particular areas and say, Hey, you know, we travel all the time.

00:08:42.960 --> 00:08:53.360
And there's other families that do this too, and they're regularly adjusted, but they just they're in your area and they just need to see somebody while they're there.

00:08:53.519 --> 00:09:01.440
And so I'll usually look in a couple of my um circles to see if I can find somebody who is in their area.

00:09:01.679 --> 00:09:06.320
And if if somebody were to wanted to reach out to you, is there a website they can reach out to you through?

00:09:06.559 --> 00:09:16.320
Um, they probably would need to email me in that instance or or if they're on Facebook, they can send me a messenger request through Facebook.

00:09:16.559 --> 00:09:16.799
Okay.

00:09:17.039 --> 00:09:20.639
And you know, we'll we can drop the email in the show notes at the end of this.

00:09:20.720 --> 00:09:21.759
So absolutely.

00:09:22.080 --> 00:09:28.320
You know, when we're driving, there's things we don't think about, obviously, like posture and keeping your alignment and stuff like that.

00:09:28.480 --> 00:09:34.639
Are there any advice you give to RVers specifically that are, you know, help them on their journey, their real journey?

00:09:34.879 --> 00:09:35.519
Yeah.

00:09:36.320 --> 00:09:37.200
Yes, yeah.

00:09:37.440 --> 00:09:38.559
Posture is a big deal.

00:09:38.720 --> 00:09:42.720
And and, you know, I've struggled with that being on the road myself.

00:09:42.879 --> 00:09:46.159
As a chiropractor, I was up all day, every day.

00:09:46.320 --> 00:09:48.240
I was up on my feet, I was moving.

00:09:48.320 --> 00:09:50.159
I and and motion is life.

00:09:50.399 --> 00:09:52.960
And and that's the main thing with your spine.

00:09:53.039 --> 00:09:54.399
You've got to keep it moving.

00:09:54.559 --> 00:09:57.759
Otherwise, it starts to deteriorate or degenerate.

00:09:58.000 --> 00:10:10.960
And so, you know, obviously if you're sitting in a sitting posture, you're gonna want to make sure that your feet are flat on the floor, you're gonna want to make sure that you're upright and that your shoulders are back, um, and that your head isn't going forward.

00:10:11.200 --> 00:10:18.720
I know a lot of us that work on the road, especially in the full-time family type community, um, we work on the road.

00:10:18.960 --> 00:10:23.360
And so we're at a computer all day, every day.

00:10:23.600 --> 00:10:30.639
And so again, when you're at a computer, you're in this posture where you're like, it's like you're you're you're pushing your head forward so you can look.

00:10:31.120 --> 00:10:31.440
For sure.

00:10:31.679 --> 00:10:40.000
So, like when I'm sitting there, like Frank has a desk out here with a stool that's like the right height, but in my room, I have the same stool, but I'm working on my bed.

00:10:40.240 --> 00:10:48.960
So I got an elevated lap desk that can go up and down so that I wasn't sitting hunched over every day because that was what I was doing for sure.

00:10:49.200 --> 00:10:50.799
I think that's true for a lot of us.

00:10:51.039 --> 00:10:51.279
Yep.

00:10:51.360 --> 00:10:57.759
And so making sure those legs are 90 degrees when you're sitting, or you have a little stool under your feet, that helps.

00:10:57.919 --> 00:11:03.120
Even a lot of people have stand-up desks or they make themselves a stand-up desk.

00:11:03.200 --> 00:11:17.840
I know I have seen a ton of RBers who have put like a fold-down tabletop on one of their walls so that so that when they need to bring slides in or whatever, they can just fold it down and it doesn't, you know, mess the slides don't mess with it.

00:11:18.000 --> 00:11:25.840
So having a even a stand-up desk where you can be up during the day puts you in a little bit of better posture when you're working on the computer.

00:11:26.080 --> 00:11:26.559
For sure.

00:11:26.720 --> 00:11:30.639
So let's talk a little bit about holistic care, homeopathy, that sort of thing.

00:11:30.720 --> 00:11:32.240
You know, you got into that on the road.

00:11:32.399 --> 00:11:34.559
You were already doing it when I think when I met you.

00:11:34.720 --> 00:11:40.240
But we, I mean, we've we've dabbled in that for many years, like long before we hit the road.

00:11:40.399 --> 00:11:44.399
But can you share what homeopathy is and how does it fit into your practice?

00:11:44.639 --> 00:11:47.200
I mean, because you use it in both sides of the coin, right?

00:11:47.440 --> 00:11:47.759
Right.

00:11:48.000 --> 00:11:52.480
So it's it's sometimes easier to to explain what homeopathy isn't.

00:11:52.720 --> 00:11:57.279
So a lot of people take the word homeopathy to mean things like home remedies.

00:11:57.360 --> 00:12:03.759
And so they'll think of essential oils or they're or they'll think of herbs or even nutritional supplements.

00:12:03.919 --> 00:12:05.440
None of that is homeopathy.

00:12:05.759 --> 00:12:09.440
Homeopathy is a separate and distinct form of medicine.

00:12:09.600 --> 00:12:27.759
So it is medicine and it treats people by the principle of light cures like, meaning that if if a, let's say, for example, a college student needs to stay up late at night to study for a test the next day, but they're super tired, what are they gonna do?

00:12:27.919 --> 00:12:31.039
They're gonna go run for a glass of co or a cup of coffee, right?

00:12:31.279 --> 00:12:41.279
Because coffee's a stimulant and it's gonna, it's gonna make their brain go and it's gonna keep them uh, you know, energized for the evening while they while they do their their studying.

00:12:41.519 --> 00:13:04.000
So someone who wants to go to bed at night, but whose mind is racing and they're kind of restless and they're awake and they're stimulated can actually take a diluted form of coffee known as a homeopathically potential form of coffee, and it will actually calm their mind and calm their body so that they can go to sleep.

00:13:04.240 --> 00:13:23.519
Interesting, you know, because especially in today's day and age, I know so many families that will, you know, give their kids melatonin, and I am so against that personally, because I know that when you start taking melatonin, then your body stops making melatonin and it's a really vicious cycle, and then now you have a bunch of people that can't sleep anymore.

00:13:23.919 --> 00:13:31.919
Homeopathy doesn't do that though, and that's one of the things that's amazing about it is you know, you're actually treating something with something.

00:13:32.159 --> 00:13:35.600
And so how do you educate clients about holistic care then?

00:13:35.919 --> 00:13:47.360
So, you know, especially my in my chiropractic practice, parents would come to me bringing their kids to me for things like ear infections, colic, those type of things.

00:13:47.440 --> 00:13:54.639
But at the same time, they're like, Well, my you know, my friends tell me that they they need to be seen by a chiropractor, but we need to get these drugs too.

00:13:54.720 --> 00:13:58.399
Or my doctor prescribed, you know, this antibiotic for their ears or whatever.

00:13:58.639 --> 00:14:05.039
So, you know, you just have to put for me, I just put those little tidbits in front of them.

00:14:05.360 --> 00:14:12.159
So I'm like, well, you know, a lot of ear infections are actually viral, not bacterial in nature.

00:14:12.320 --> 00:14:15.360
And what is the purpose of an antibiotic?

00:14:15.519 --> 00:14:23.919
And so when you ask them those questions and you present it to them that way, they're like, oh, well, antibiotics are for bacterial infections.

00:14:24.080 --> 00:14:32.559
So if your kid has a viral infection that's causing this ear infection, then the antibiotics are of no use to them.

00:14:33.120 --> 00:14:38.480
And now we know the antibiotics mean killing bacteria.

00:14:39.039 --> 00:14:42.159
And that means the bacteria in the gut.

00:14:42.559 --> 00:14:42.879
Yeah.

00:14:43.200 --> 00:14:55.679
And so therefore, you have now just killed all their good gut bacteria along with any bad that was in there, and you didn't do anything for the ear infection because it was viral.

00:14:55.919 --> 00:14:57.360
That's fascinating that you say that.

00:14:57.440 --> 00:15:00.399
So we were going to Hershey, and I got so sick.

00:15:00.639 --> 00:15:05.360
I totally had my first ever experience with a dizzy spell that just wouldn't go away.

00:15:05.679 --> 00:15:11.519
The first day I threw up, the second day I threw up, and by that point we were setting up for Hershey.

00:15:11.600 --> 00:15:15.440
And I finally said to my husband, I said, You're gonna have to take me to the ER.

00:15:15.600 --> 00:15:21.360
And the ER gave me some medicine, did the test, said, No, it's not anything serious, and sent me on my way.

00:15:21.519 --> 00:15:31.759
And I didn't take the medicine because the medicine they gave me didn't make me feel better, it just made me sleepier, and it wasn't really it wasn't a bacterial, it was just something to keep me from getting dizzy.

00:15:31.840 --> 00:15:33.200
Yeah, but it wasn't working.

00:15:33.360 --> 00:15:42.879
It's funny that you say it was viral because that could have been an inner ear virus, because on Friday during Hershey, all of a sudden everything lifted and everything cleared.

00:15:42.960 --> 00:15:47.039
And the only thing I was doing was taking Manuka honey on a regular.

00:15:47.200 --> 00:15:51.440
That's the only thing I was doing during that four days while it was so bad.

00:15:51.679 --> 00:15:58.559
So I did stop spinning enough by Monday that I could go to the event, but you know, it was it was a rough few days.

00:15:58.799 --> 00:15:59.519
Yes, yes.

00:15:59.919 --> 00:16:05.039
I do not recommend doing, you know, a big RV show with, you know, that sort of thing going on in your life.

00:16:05.279 --> 00:16:06.000
Yeah, absolutely.

00:16:06.240 --> 00:16:11.600
What would you say how your journey has evolved as your kids have grown up on the road?

00:16:11.840 --> 00:16:14.399
You've got kids that are are graduated now, right?

00:16:14.639 --> 00:16:14.960
Yes.

00:16:15.120 --> 00:16:19.039
The two we have just set the two up in a house.

00:16:19.279 --> 00:16:25.039
And when we go back out at the beginning of this next year, um, they won't be going with us.

00:16:25.279 --> 00:16:27.279
Oh wow, that's gonna be a big transition.

00:16:28.799 --> 00:16:30.000
From three down to one.

00:16:30.159 --> 00:16:32.399
I thought going from five to three was hard this year.

00:16:32.559 --> 00:16:33.759
So I understand.

00:16:34.639 --> 00:16:35.279
Yeah.

00:16:35.600 --> 00:16:41.039
So I mean, like, as far as that goes, I mean, like, what are are they doing school at then the girls?

00:16:41.279 --> 00:16:43.600
The girls are getting jobs.

00:16:43.840 --> 00:16:50.799
They have decided that, well, neither one of them has decided that anything that they want to do requires a college education.

00:16:51.120 --> 00:16:52.720
It's gonna be more training.

00:16:52.879 --> 00:16:57.840
So, for example, one of them wants to continue traveling, not in an RV.

00:16:58.000 --> 00:16:59.600
She wants to be a flight attendant.

00:16:59.919 --> 00:17:00.399
Oh, nice.

00:17:00.639 --> 00:17:06.799
And so there is no college that she needs to go to to become a flight attendant.

00:17:07.279 --> 00:17:15.200
So she is just going to, you know, wait for that magic day that she gets the call that she has an interview to be a flight attendant and then do the training for that.

00:17:15.359 --> 00:17:22.880
So in the meantime, she's just doing some jobs here around town to help her live on, you know, get some money and live on.

00:17:23.119 --> 00:17:26.720
And the other is not quite sure exactly what she wants to do.

00:17:26.880 --> 00:17:43.119
She is a book lover, like will have her head in the book all the time and would love to do something with a Barnes and Noble, maybe even move up the chain in Barnes and Noble, or perhaps a coffee shop here in town that is book focused.

00:17:43.279 --> 00:17:45.200
It's a coffee shop.

00:17:45.759 --> 00:17:50.559
She would love to be, um, you know, love to work for them.

00:17:50.880 --> 00:17:56.720
So at this point in time, I don't see any reason why she needs to have a college education right now.

00:17:56.960 --> 00:18:02.079
But if she so chooses something later, she can always go at that point in time.

00:18:02.319 --> 00:18:04.480
I have one graduate still traveling with us.

00:18:04.559 --> 00:18:09.599
So our oldest is nine, she just turned 19 and she's still decided to stay with us.

00:18:09.680 --> 00:18:15.839
Um, I'm trying to talk her into if she wanted to do like a seasonal gig somewhere that might be a good test run.

00:18:16.160 --> 00:18:28.160
Um, you know, because you can you can go up to Alaska and spend the summer or like we spent the summer in Yellowstone, they had dorms there as well as, you know, RV pads, and so she could meet some kids there and have that experience.

00:18:28.319 --> 00:18:32.960
So we're looking at next summer for that at this point because she wants to go to Florida and see friends.

00:18:33.200 --> 00:18:35.039
So that's in the cards this year.

00:18:35.279 --> 00:18:41.519
And that's the good thing about RV life is you can you can make it a point to go meet meet up with those friends.

00:18:41.680 --> 00:18:41.920
Right.

00:18:42.079 --> 00:18:45.119
And it's important it's important that you do that.

00:18:45.599 --> 00:18:50.720
You know, when we got here early this year, we decided we were going to Europe.

00:18:50.960 --> 00:18:54.160
And so we did a three-month stint in Europe traveling around there.

00:18:54.319 --> 00:18:56.960
So it was all of us, plus my mom went with us.

00:18:57.200 --> 00:19:01.279
And then when we came back, then the girls were, you know, we were getting them settled down.

00:19:01.519 --> 00:19:10.720
In the meantime, we were switching RVs because our RV was just tired after eight years and 49 states and two, you know, two additional countries.

00:19:10.880 --> 00:19:12.240
Like it was tired.

00:19:12.559 --> 00:19:19.599
So we got a new RV about a week before Balloon Fiesta, and my son was like, we need to go to Balloon Fiesta.

00:19:19.759 --> 00:19:23.920
So it's like, okay, he he wants to do that.

00:19:24.319 --> 00:19:26.559
So let's make it happen.

00:19:26.799 --> 00:19:36.319
Um, so it's like if they want to go see somebody or they want to go do something specific, it's important to let them make some of those decisions.

00:19:37.680 --> 00:19:39.119
When they're older for sure.

00:19:39.440 --> 00:19:44.799
Well, yeah, and and you know, you have to be intentional as parents, especially on the road with teens.

00:19:44.960 --> 00:19:46.640
I think that that is so important.

00:19:46.880 --> 00:19:48.240
You mentioned you went to Europe.

00:19:48.400 --> 00:19:50.960
Were you able to work from the road when you were in Europe as well?

00:19:51.200 --> 00:19:51.599
I did.

00:19:51.680 --> 00:20:01.759
I had to finagle my schedule a bit because of the time changes, and I had to see people a little less often than I would have if we were here.

00:20:02.000 --> 00:20:03.279
But we've made it happen.

00:20:03.440 --> 00:20:09.839
Yeah, so you know, I just I I work from the road part-time anyways, and so does my husband.

00:20:10.000 --> 00:20:15.839
We do Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and then we have Friday, Saturday, Sunday, that's a nice schedule.

00:20:16.319 --> 00:20:28.160
Ah, so I was able to kind of keep that schedule while we were in Europe and then still be able to do things with the kids because after all, this trip was actually my girls' senior trip.

00:20:28.400 --> 00:20:29.759
Yeah, yeah, for sure.

00:20:30.000 --> 00:20:36.799
What do you think if you if you had one piece of advice to give to RVers about wellness and health on the road, what would you say to them?

00:20:37.039 --> 00:20:37.680
Oh my gosh.

00:20:37.839 --> 00:20:44.880
Um, get out in the sun, get exercise, which I know RVers tend to love to hike, do it.

00:20:45.119 --> 00:20:47.039
That or just even walking.

00:20:47.279 --> 00:20:59.839
Um, and my my real big thing is you can get in a really bad habit of eating out because you're in all these new places and you want to try their amazing food.

00:21:00.000 --> 00:21:04.319
You want to try their amazing ice cream and you know, all the goodies.

00:21:04.559 --> 00:21:12.000
When you're living a full-time RB lifestyle, you need to make it just like you're living at home.

00:21:12.160 --> 00:21:22.799
Like make your meals, get your good foods, keep those on hand, do as little eating out as possible because that's one of the main things that's gonna ruin your health.

00:21:23.119 --> 00:21:23.599
Interesting.

00:21:23.759 --> 00:21:29.039
Yeah, we've had to dial it in some this year because my oldest daughter, it was funny.

00:21:29.119 --> 00:21:32.319
So in 2002 2022, we went to Yellowstone.

00:21:32.400 --> 00:21:34.799
She was getting sick on everything.

00:21:34.960 --> 00:21:36.319
Like we tried everything.

00:21:36.480 --> 00:21:40.799
So a year and a half ago, her girlfriend said to her, you know, maybe you're celiac.

00:21:40.880 --> 00:21:43.839
We cut out gluten right away, and right away we saw a change.

00:21:44.000 --> 00:21:46.160
We didn't realize that it could be that bad.

00:21:46.240 --> 00:21:47.920
And so we're very careful.

00:21:48.160 --> 00:21:51.920
And this week we're visiting family who's less than very careful.

00:21:52.079 --> 00:21:56.319
I just recently wrote a blog post about how important it is to be mindful of all those things.

00:21:56.400 --> 00:21:58.319
And you just don't know unless you know, right?

00:21:58.400 --> 00:22:02.160
You but yeah, you know, it's it's One of those things that learning is part of that.

00:22:02.319 --> 00:22:10.400
So eating at home, being in an area where we can make sure that the food is not just safe for her, but better for all of us is very important on the road.

00:22:10.720 --> 00:22:13.839
Because I mean we're very bad about going out, especially travel days, right?

00:22:13.920 --> 00:22:21.359
Because I mean it's so much easier to grab something, but you're never grabbing something good because the truck doesn't fit with the camper wherever the good food is, right?

00:22:21.599 --> 00:22:28.160
So we try to save that for like experienced dinners where we're actually going out to dinner at a local restaurant that's private and that sort of thing.

00:22:28.319 --> 00:22:29.839
And we've done our homework on it.

00:22:29.920 --> 00:22:35.279
So you said to connect with you, just an email is a good way to connect you with you if people have further questions.

00:22:35.440 --> 00:22:35.680
Yep.

00:22:35.759 --> 00:22:37.759
Email is a great way to contact me.

00:22:37.920 --> 00:22:41.279
I do have a website, it's drchyquarter.com.

00:22:41.519 --> 00:22:46.480
You have to put the www in front of there, or it does not get you to the right place.

00:22:46.720 --> 00:22:51.839
So that's just for general information, whether that's about me, homeopathy, chiropractic, whatever.

00:22:52.000 --> 00:22:55.279
Um, but if you need to contact me, the email is a great way to do so.

00:22:55.440 --> 00:22:55.839
Awesome.

00:22:56.000 --> 00:22:57.839
Thanks, Christy, for taking the time today.

00:22:58.000 --> 00:22:59.680
I so appreciate you.
